you walk down Alameda/Paisano Dr/my Aunt's Soufflé

about

the first part is shamelessly taken from "Alameda" by elliott smith. you were walkin' down a street called Alameda in El Paso, except it wasn't so much a street as some sort of major road, and the song popped into your head and seemed particularly relevant to your emotional state. but the road you really remember in El Paso is Paisano Drive, not sure why, i think it must have had some sort of significance to finding your way back to the house. was it significant that time we drove aimlessly into the desert, just for the sake of SEEING THE DESERT, and pulled into a ghost town called Esperanza? we walked around and found ourselves confronted by a pack of unfenced horses. we didn't know what to do so we didn't move, we just stared into their sharp dark eyes and let them lose interest and amble along on their way. a year later on the other side of the world i woke up from a dream about my aunt making a soufflé. if you knew her you'd probably agree that it was pretty out of character
