was it a year ago? sleep-deprived and delusional in the heat of a muggy september afternoon you sat on the couch in your friend's living room, head tilted back you watched the subtle vascillations of a straw hat, suspended (for whatever reason) from the ceiling, wiggling in the wind of the fan on the floor. was it a month ago? sleep-deprived and delusional you sat on the porch in light sprinkles of rain as the early morning sun would brighten and fade as the density of clouds continuously shifted in the inconsistently overcast sky. you were staring at a pair of shoes slung over a telephone wire and admiring how slowly they'd spin when a man collecting cans asked you if you were alright, seeing that you were sitting in a wheelchair. but your legs were fine, and a chair is a chair. Mitch is playing the cello
