this song is about knowing your dog pal is about to die and the way her jaw was drooping and how she couldn't seem to contain her tongue within her mouth anymore and so she kept drooling all over your thigh and the living room rug as you stared her in the eyes and kept petting her throughout the last 12 hours of her life, all night and into the morning alone while listening to your parents snoring. it is also about getting yelled at in italian and not knowing what you're being chastised for but having a feeling that it has something to do with showing affection on private property. it ALSO is about another time you got yelled at in italian and didn't understand. you had just taken a rather relieving shit in the bathroom of some sort of cafe in Naples and you were outside walking away when the owner of the place ran out to get your attention and after you explained to him "non parlo italiano!" he brought you back into the bathroom and pointed at your poopsmear deep down on the inside of the toilet bowl and m ade a gesture like he wanted you to wipe it up. you felt embarrassed at the time but now it just seems ridiculous. just another trigger of the poop bucket blues.
Mitch did all the crazy sounds. i just did the acoustic guitar.
